Workout Wednesdays
There’s two weeks left to take advantage of free fitness classes at The Forks. Every Wednesday in March, The Forks is holding a 45-minute exercise class. The sessions are free and open to all participants, but each class caps out at 25 people and is first-come, first-served. The March 23 class will focus on a boxing workout, while the final March 30 class will incorporate full-body strength exercises. More information is available at theforks.com.
Home and Garden Show
The Winnipeg Home and Garden Show is back for its 42nd year. The event runs from April 1 to 3 at the RBC Convention Centre and will feature over 175 home, landscaping and gardening exhibitors, including HGTV’s Carson Arthur and W Network’s Jillian Harris and Todd Talbot. Regular adult admission is $12, but tickets are available online, and adults can save $3 by purchasing passes at winnipeghomeshows.com. More event details are available at winnipeghomeandgardenshow.com.
Saddle up
The Brandon Wheat Kings’ season is over, but the Royal Manitoba Winter Fair is back to light up the arena. The world-class show jumping, horse competitions, live music – including Fred Penner – and agricultural expos start on March 28 and run until April 2 at the Keystone Centre in Brandon. The President’s Choice SuperDogs will once again take over the arena between competitions, and some retailers will offer daily food and drink specials. Information about special theme days, ticket prices and promotions is available at royalmanitobawinterfair.com.
