RRC Polytech’s Notre Dame Campus has been added to Manitoba’s list of measles exposure sites.
In an email sent to RRC Polytech staff and students, the Winnipeg Regional Health Authority announced that a selection of classrooms and a business at the Notre Dame Campus have been identified to be exposure zones.
Room B141, B142, B201, B203, B208, B209, and Tim Hortons are listed in the notice.
Health authorities say the exposure happened between April 20 to 23, 2026, and between the hours of 8:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. each day.
Those who may have been exposed are told to monitor for symptoms until May 15, 2026.
According to health officials, measles is a highly infectious illness spread through coughing or sneezing.
Symptoms typically appear seven to 21 days after exposure. This could include a high fever, cough, runny nose, red eyes, drowsiness, and small white spots on the inside of the mouth or throat. After the initial symptoms, a red blotchy rash appears on the face and spreads down the body.
Someone with measles can spread the illness up to four days before the rash starts, and up to four days after the rash begins.
A measles infection can also lead to more serious complications, such as ear infections, diarrhea, pneumonia and encephalitis.
More information on measles, vaccinations, and exposure sites is available online.
